Practicing for my HS Chair Placement Audition Spring 2018
This video was taken about a month ago when I was practicing for my Spring audition for this year (I apologize in advance for the low quality... Youtube wouldn't let me upload the higher-definition version). I did this little recording experiment last year, and I found positive results. When I practice my flute with the goal in mind of publishing a video as I have, I tend to practice more efficiently. Like last year, the outcome of this practice method ensured my 1st chair placement, as well as providing me with valuable long-term information to improve my skills. I highly encourage musicians in my age group to record their practicing to then listen to it. In this way, the musician has a better perception of their playing as opposed to trying to learn from their mistakes while playing. Much like how we often are our biggest obstacles, I believe that by listening to these mistakes we become our own best teachers.
This video was in fact the last video recording I took with my Di Zhao DZ-700 flute:(
Stay "tuned" for updates of me with my new Muramatsu GX flute (plus super-expensive C# trill key)!!
